Short summary of the job: A sales job for smart people and can learn quickly new industries management practices. You will be in charge of the full sales cycle from the opportunity qualification to the negotiation, going through astonishing product demos.

Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day purchasing activities as per company requirements.
  • Source materials, components, equipment, and other required items from suitable vendors.
  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers and maintain good relationships with existing vendors.
  • Collect and compare quotations from multiple suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, quality, and delivery schedules with vendors.
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) after obtaining the required approvals.
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Coordinate with the Inventory and Engineering teams to understand material requirements.
  • Verify material specifications, quantities, rates, and delivery terms before placing orders.
  • Maintain proper records of quotations, purchase orders, invoices, vendor details, and related documents.
  • Track pending purchase orders and provide regular updates to management.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts team regarding vendor invoices and payment-related matters.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to delayed deliveries, wrong materials, shortages, or quality concerns.
  • Maintain and regularly update the vendor database.
  • Prepare purchase reports and maintain procurement-related documentation.
  • Support inventory planning by coordinating timely procurement of required materials.
  • Ensure procurement activities are carried out as per company policies and approval procedures.

    Required Qualifications

    • Graduate / Diploma in any relevant field.
    • B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering fields will be preferred.
    • 1–3 years of experience in Purchase / Procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering company.
    • Candidates with experience in electronic components, mechanical parts, electrical items, hardware, or industrial materials will be preferred.

    Required Skills

    • Good vendor management and negotiation skills.
    • Strong communication and follow-up skills.
    • Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
    • Ability to compare quotations and analyze pricing.
    • Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
    • Strong coordination and time-management abilities.
    • Ability to handle multiple purchase requirements simultaneously.
    • Basic understanding of inventory and procurement processes.
    • ERP / purchase management software experience will be an added advantage.
